WHY LEARN INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE ? |
To be a successful and well rounded interior designer, you have to combine both the skills of an interior architect and the ones from an interior decorator. In this course you will be taught the technical and architectural aspects of interior design and will be shown how to apply ergonomics and space planning principles in a variety of interior design contexts. |

The course has been developed by Insight teachers and follows the on-campus curriculum. It combines a selection of tutorials, inspirational images, videos and quizzes. A tutorial snapshot / Your body as the best measuring tool Remember that perception of space is based on body size (Ergonomics). Different size spaces suit different size people: one person’s claustrophobic box is another’s cosy nest. Ergonomics (from the Greek word ergon meaning work, and nomoi meaning natural laws), is the science of refining the design of products to optimize them for human use. Rather than working exclusively in plan and asking the question ‘is the access adequate?’ take steps to visualize the situation for yourself and use a tape measure to confirm the dimensions required An exercise example / Spot the planning mistakes |

- Stationary: HB Pencil, eraser, paper, scale ruler, T square ruler, set ruler, tracing paper.
