ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Valeria Pola: Former Senior Project Designer, HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates

Italian by birth, Valeria has been inspired from an early age by her country’s architecture, design, landscape and materials. Having graduated from Milan University with a Master’s degree in Product Design, Valeria spent a couple of years working for several design studios in Milan before heading east to explore opportunities in Asia. Based in Hong Kong for the last 7 years ago, Valeria has worked in 3 very different design studios, further developing her capabilities and gaining invaluable work experience in Asia.
Valeria’s Hong Kong posting began at Sean Dix, a well-known Hong Kong agency specializing in restaurant design and bespoke furniture pieces. After a brief stint at Benoy, a British company specializing in malls and retail design, she joined HBA. Over the next 4 years at HBA, Valeria was able to further refine her taste and hone her skills in luxury hospitality design. Valeria is about to embark on her next adventure: establishing her own design studio! She will focus on projects ranging from hospitality, commercial and product design; bringing together all her past experience and a bit of her own personality.
