Course Overview

 

Textiles have the unique ability to give a space its personality. In this course, we’ll explore their properties, regulations, and appropriate use for interiors. We’ll also provide access to a wide range of materials from samples in the School’s extensive textiles library.

Curriculum will cover:

  • Overview of the history of fabric design and the science of textile production, from weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing
  • Understanding of fibres and their properties
  • Applications of textiles for furniture, wall coverings and window treatments
  • Use of textiles in different spaces based on the nature of the project (i.e. beach hut, ski chalet, urban apartment)
